Financial Partnerships
Cornerstone commits to giving a minimum of 10% of the received offering to non-Cornerstone led Christian mission work. This paper aims to explain something of the vision for these financial partnerships.
Aims of Financial Partnering
Cornerstone believes that it is important that our giving would not only serve to imitate the generosity of God, but would also serve to enhance our congregations understanding of the true nature and scope of biblical mission. This would include the reality that Gods mission is to all things and all people in all places. Gods mission is to the whole of creation; it’s Jesus making all things new.
Although we cant give to all things in every place our partnerships do aim to demonstrate something of the diverse nature of mission, and so we see in our partners a broad representation of various types of mission work in various places all over the world.

Who are our Financial Partners?
Release International
Founded in 1968, Release International is a UK-based Christian ministry, supporting believers around the world who are persecuted for Christ and the gospel. Release were inspired by the life and witness of Pastor Richard Wurmbrand, who spent 14 years in communist prisons. His remarkable story was captured in his book, Tortured for Christ. The words of this biblical command are an important basis for their work: ‘Continue to remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison, and those who are mistreated, as if you yourselves were suffering.’ (Hebrews 13:3; NIV; 2011) Release International are currently active in around 30 countries where, prayerfully, pastorally and practically, we seek to love and serve persecuted Christians. You can find out more information about Release International here. |
Pilgrim Care
Established in 1995 Pilgrim Care is a St Andrews based charity that grew out of a desire to provide Christian care facilities and pastoral care support for the elderly in the St Andrews area. Pilgrim Care is a local charity whose primary aim is to care for elderly residents of St Andrews. Its long-term goal is to establish a care village of assisted living houses and associated care home in the St Andrews area, to be run with a Christian ethos, but serving people of all faiths or none. Pilgrim Care’s vision is to develop a secure environment for elderly people in St Andrews. The intention is to develop a complex comprising extra-care housing units available for purchase or rent and a nursing home that would be open to both the occupants of the extra-care housing and members of the wider community. Ethos behind our Financial Partnerships
Partnerships are more than financial
We recognise that true partnership is more than a financial transaction. Our partnerships are selected partly on the potential for these relationships to develop. We want to know how our partners are getting on and what they are doing; we want to pray for them; to learn about mission from them; to know about opportunities to serve with them on the front line and to find other ways to support them.
Engaging and Encouraging the Cornerstone Community
The main way in which we would look to engage our community would be through short presentations during the Sunday gathering. These have the following aims:
To emphasise something of the true nature of biblical mission.
To inform about an individual partnership.
To provide an update about the partners work and needs.
To invite individuals to further participation including prayer, practical action, further giving etc.
To encourage our community through highlighting the fact that when individuals make a financial offering they are partnering with the Global body of Christ, partnering in the Gospel, and partnering in Gods mission to the world.
Financial Partnerships Team
Our Financial Partnerships are overseen by Becky Stojanovic, Graham McLean, Sylvia Roberts.
