All money given to the church will be stewarded in a way that reflects the priority of mission. Our Budget Principles We wish to be transparent and accountable about how we steward all money given to the church. We seek to practice the following principles:

Financial Partnerships
Cornerstone commits to giving a minimum of 10% of the received offering to non-Cornerstone led Christian mission work. This paper aims to explain something of the vision for these financial partnerships.
Aims of Financial Partnering
Cornerstone believes that it is important that our giving would not only serve to imitate the generosity of God, but would also serve to enhance our congregations understanding of the true nature and scope of biblical mission. This would include the reality that Gods mission is to all things and all people in all places. Gods mission is to the whole of creation; it’s Jesus making all things new.
Although we cant give to all things in every place our partnerships do aim to demonstrate something of the diverse nature of mission, and so we see in our partners a broad representation of various types of mission work in various places all over the world.
Our current partners/arrangements are:
(i) Release International: Supporting persecuted Christians around the world.
(ii) Tearfund: A major player in relief and development around the world.
(iii) Parish Nursing: A local outreach to the elderly in this area.
(iv) K2: Taking the Gospel to local school children.
(v) Laura Simmonds: part of a church planting mission in Descartes, France.
(vi) Short Term Programme Fund: for individuals engaging in short term mission.
(vii) Other Mission Support Fund: for other mission organisations/initiatives seeking assistance.
Partnerships are more than financial
We recognise that true partnership is more than a financial transaction. Our partnerships are selected partly on the potential for these relationships to develop. We want to know how our partners are getting on and what they are doing; we want to pray for them; to learn about mission from them; to know about opportunities to serve with them on the front line and to find other ways to support them.
Partnership Champions
For each partnership we aim to have a ‘Champion’ who would serve as a messenger between Cornerstone and the individual partner. Their role includes:
The Champions are:Release International - Jen Newland
Engaging and Encouraging the Cornerstone Community
The main way in which we would look to engage our community would be through short presentations during the Sunday gathering. These have the following aims:
