Romans: Reconsidering What Christianity is all About
“I cry out to you, God, but you do not answer; I stand up, but you merely look at me.” The relevancy of Job’s famous confession is as old as time. Who hasn’t ever wondered if God is actually listening? In his letter to the church in Rome, Paul shares the good news that in Jesus Christ, God has responded and continues to respond to our deepest cries. This is good news for everyone. As we make our way through this theologically rich letter, we will reexamine this good news and consider the implications it has on our lives today. This includes the beautiful assurance of salvation, the hope of spiritual growth and maturity, the purpose of God’s will in our lives, the work of the Holy Spirit, and our responsibilities to others as followers of Christ. In other words, we will reconsider what it means to follow Christ.
